Jewish culture, for example, has baby celebrations after the birth. On some rare occasions, the men get a baby shower as well. More common is to allow men to attend a baby shower, traditionally a women only event. For new grandmothers, a "grandma shower" is even sometimes held. Invitations are of course essential to baby shower planning.
